After locking myself out of my home i was determined to take the time to find a trustworthy and local locksmith as I heard some can overcharge and scam. I have never needed a locksmith before this incident so I was weary of choosing just any. Locksmith on Brunswick was what I found and they definitely came to the rescue efficiently and did not misquote or overcharge me. William was awesome and very calm and kind. Definitely a reliable locksmith if you are in need of one quickly, I will definitely choose them if I should ever need to again.

Had a car key replaced, I had tried other locksmith who couldn't get a replacement key to work. William came and had a new key done in 30mins. Can't say how good and professional the service was, such a pleasure to deal with and the price was better than what others were asking for. Thanks William it great to know that great local tradies are still available.

High recommend William + the team for auto locksmith needs. They were able to fit me in at short notice, upfront about the cost before any appointment was made, the cost was very reasonable for a smart key replacement. Replacement key + remote for my car works perfectly, and all done in under 20 mins. Again I can't recommend them enough -- thanks William!

I’ve now had all my locks replaced & updated with Locksmiths on Brunswick, William has always been very responsive & thorough in his communication & quotes, and Xander has installed everything punctually, professionally & politely. When a lock replacement inadvertently left me without a handle to close the door from outside, William quickly responded & fixed the problem free of charge. Highly recommended!

How much do locksmiths typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job — a simple key cut or rekey is usually much less than emergency entry or full hardware replacement. Many locksmiths charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate and materials, and after-hours or emergency work generally attracts higher rates.
Do locksmiths charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. This fee is usually separate from labour and materials and may apply even for quick or small jobs. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum charge when getting quotes.
Do locksmiths need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Locksmithing is a licensed occupation across Australia, and in NSW licences are issued by the NSW Police Force — Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED). You should expect a provider to display a valid state security licence number and to hold industry credentials such as MLAA, LGA or ASIAL membership, a Certificate III in Locksmithing, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
