Daniel from The Local Guys Pest Control was excellent to deal with. I had bugs appearing inside the house and Daniel came out quickly to assess the situation. He identified the bugs as termites, explained how they had likely entered the roof space, and then checked around the property for any signs of nests or damage. I really appreciated how thorough and straightforward he was. No scare tactics, clear explanations, and a professional approach throughout.

It is now just over a week since Jason came to eradicate our really annoying ants. So far so good, have not seen one ant for days. We saw a few stragglers for a few days after Jason did the job. He explained this would be likely and I trust he did a thorough job. Especially happy he gave a 3 month warranty so if any problem he will come back for no extra cost. But it seems he probably won't need to. Thanks Jason.

Frequently asked questions

How much do pest controllers typically charge?

Costs vary widely depending on the pest type, how extensive the infestation is, property access and whether follow-up visits are needed. Most pest controllers charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with materials and repeat treatments adding to the total. The prices shown on this page update live to help you compare current rates.

Do pest controllers charge call-out fees?

Many pest controllers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess your property, which is usually separate from labour and materials. After-hours, weekend or emergency attendance often attracts higher rates. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.

Do pest controllers need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Pest control work generally must be carried out by a licensed pest controller in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW licensing is administered by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW). Providers should display a valid state pest management licence and often hold industry credentials such as AEPMA membership or PestCert accreditation, public liability insurance and an ABN with GST registration. Many also provide a written service report and chemical usage log after treatment.
