We had an excellent response from Ben at Benchmark, particularly as our problem occured on a Sunday, we contacted Ben on a Monday morning, and he came and fixed our problem before Monday lunchtime. Conisdering this was on 22 December, only just before Christmas and New Year, and our problem would have left our house without electrical power probably until the new year Ben saved us a lot of trouble. Thanks Ben. Much appreciated!

Ben, from Benchmark Electrical Network, recently replaced security lighting in the entrance to my home. I left it to Ben to select a suitable fixture, and he sent me a photo of the item for approval. It is exactly what is perfect for the area and Ben did a great job of installing it. His charge was reasonable. I will certainly be contacting him if I need any electrical work done in future. Bernadette Barnett, Curtin. ACT.

Frequently asked questions

How much do electricians typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job type, how much fault-finding is needed, and whether switchboard or circuit work is involved. Electricians typically charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, and after-hours attendance usually attracts higher rates. Check the live pricing on this page to compare local quotes.
Do electricians charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and are usually charged separately to labour and materials to cover travel and the initial assessment. Some providers may also have a minimum charge for small jobs, so it's worth confirming any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do electricians need a licence in Australia?
Yes — electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW licensing is through NSW Fair Trading. Electricians should display a valid state electrical licence number on quotes and advertising and will usually issue a Certificate of Electrical Safety on completion of work.
How do I get a quote from Benchmark Electrical Network?
Benchmark Electrical Network lists phone, email, or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
