  We engaged Steve to conduct a pre-purchase building inspection in March this year. He provided an extremely comprehensive report and spent time on the phone with us going through key issues. As a result of his work, we went into the purchase with eyes open. We continue to refer to his report as we plan our renovations. Steve is experienced, knowledgeable, thorough and pragmatic. He is also very approachable with great communication. Highly recommended.

  Steve has helped us with a subsidence and drainage issue in the highly reactive clay soils found along the Surfcoast. As our home is only 10 years old we were extremely concerned about the matter. Steve has been a great coach, directing us in the right direction to address the problem. He is well connected to other trusted professionals in the area and is prompt with communication.   We are extremely happy with Steve's work - we contracted him for a pre-sale building inspection and his work was highly detailed and thorough. He saved us a few very big headaches! We contacted him late on a Sunday and he got back to us straight away and was able to travel to us to complete the inspection first thing the next morning. He was very generous with his time and even gave us additional advice regarding the possibility of renovation works. We will definitely use Steve again in the future for any building inspections and can't recommend him enough!

  I highly recommend Steve at Surfcoast Building inspections. I utilised Steve for two property inspections, the first inspection that Steve completed helped me avoid an otherwise costly mistake. Steve’s reports were extremely detailed, covered both major and non-major defects and included pictures of the inspection. The reports covered much more than I expected and truly allowed me to make an informed decision on whether to purchase a property. Steve was able to organise the inspections very quickly (Within a couple of days of making contact with him) and he sent us the detailed report the same day that the inspection took place. Steve was also happy to discuss the report in depth, answering any questions I had. Thank you Steve for your great work and professionalism.

  Steve delivered an outstanding service and I would never recommend anyone shopping around as he saved us a fortune!! We had noticed some problems with the property however not to the extent, Steve's insight and experience gave us a much better understanding of what we would be up against. We had intentions of a significant renovation but without Steve's time and diligence we would not have known what was ahead of us and re-priced our offer accordingly. As mentioned in other reviews Steve made time available to conduct the inspection very promptly and then a follow up phone call for an hour+ to explain everything, he even returned a call as he was at the airport about to depart on a family holiday just to ensure I was comfortable with our next steps. Our agents mentioned they had never experienced an inspection conducted so thoroughly. Thanks Steve!
