I was very keen to get a solar system but having just moved to Adelaide I had very few contacts and was quite wary of possible shonky installations and cowboy traders. A friend recommended Nelson and Sol Energy and I am so glad I gave him a call. From the very first meeting Nelson took time to explain the various options available (in a language that was easy to understand), new technologies, pricing and also accurately ascertained our current and projected future energy needs. We discussed a number of suitable options and prices within our budget and there was plenty of time to digest the information and ask questions. Nelson took time to design and tweak a plan to fit our property, our roof type and to maximise our daily sun exposure. Once we had decided on the system to suit us the process happened quickly and easily. The installers were first class. Communication was excellent and they took great pains to ensure that our tiled roof was handled with care. Nelson was on hand to check in and even went above and beyond in securing some extra roof tiles for us to replace ones that had to be removed. Our solar system was installed very quickly and with no fuss. Nelson then came and explained the set up and the monitoring system that enables us to see in real time how our panels are performing. Nelson and the installation team were professional and yet friendly and very easy to work with. The service provided was excellent from start to finish and we are thrilled to now have our solar system operating. I was not looking forward to taking this project on but it was a pleasure working with the team and switching our solar on. I cannot recommend Nelson and Sol Energy highly enough. Many thanks!

The inverter we received had a fault and, as it was an overseas product, the team persisted with pushing the company to provide a replacement. We strongly recommend Sol Energy. We installed a 7 kWh with battery. The inverter had some issues and the company were the whole time monitoring our system and checking possible issues. They decided to replace it and now everything works perfect. Great team and very professional.

We did our research and quotes on solar, including with Tesla. Nelson from SOL energy walked us through his product and then he let his quote stand for a year while we were looking into other quotes. Tesla’s quote took over 5 months to come through, and they weren’t able to offer the panels or technology like SOL Energy. Plus the Tesla quote was 4 times the price of SOL energy. We have had our solar for 3 months now and the individual optimization of each panel is awesome, and all visible on their great app. Nelson was really knowledgeable and spent a few hours with us before we decided to go ahead. I recommend contacting Nelson at SOL energy before going ahead with any other solar quote! (And no, I am NOT a friend of his, I just appreciate the service he provided). Thanks SOL energy! From quote stage to installation we have nothing but praise for Sol Energy. The detail of the quote and the time Andres and Nelson spent explaining everything to us, in language we could understand was outstanding. The team that carried out the installation were highly professional, polite and respectful of us and our home. We would highly recommend Sol Energy to anyone considering solar as we very much enjoyed our experience dealing with them.

I selected Sol Energy after obtaining three quotes for a solar battery system for my home. There were already solar panels installed in 2012 and I wanted a system that added solar panels and a battery, making use of the government's Home Battery Scheme subsidy. I wanted to achieve more self-sufficiency for the electrical power consumption in our home. The quotation from Sol Energy was easy to understand and was the only quotation to include an estimate of savings that could be achieved over a 5-6 year period. It also represented the best value for money of the quotes obtained. The installation of the additional solar panels and battery was straight forward and once in place, the internet-based monitoring system was easy to set up on both my PC and via a dedicated phone app. So, I can now monitor the power inputs and outputs at a glance. Attached to this review is a screen-grab from the PC-based system showing the total usage on 21 October 2020, where the battery's state of charge dipped to around 38% throughout the night having been fully charged during the previous day. There was no consumption from the grid on that day, from midnight to midnight and, in fact, the system produced a net feed-in to the grid during the day. This is a fairly typical pattern, particularly for sunny days, with no usage of the heating/cooling system, which is by far the biggest power load in our home. So, the system installed by Sol Energy is working very well, particularly on sunny days. We have had a couple of power outages, lasting several hours, since the system was installed and the battery backup power kicked in, maintaining power to the fridge and lighting (ie essential power) throughout the outages. Support from Sol Energy throughout each phase of the quotation/installation/post-installation process has been outstanding. They have been courteous and straightforward in responding to my various inquiries. The explanations to various questions I raised were thoughtful and informative. I highly recommend Sol Energy for value-for-money solar power systems and would certainly use them again if I ever wanted to add to/modify our system.
