Thanks to the team at Brownstone Solar. With rapidly rising energy costs, my brief to the sales team was to engineer a system that got me effectively off the grid. Solar options and benefits can be confusing, so I was relieved with the way the team clearly explained the requirements and what I could expect from the system; I ended up with panels and a battery. Throughout the install, Brownstone was constantly engaged, working with council, and helping notify neighbours impacted because of the access we required. The install went without a hitch, being completed in a day, and the attention to detail was exceptional. The system is part of the house for the next 25 years, so tidy work and care in the install looks good and has added value. The technicians were in touch after the instal and they monitored the system initially, to make sure everything was in order. Despite a busy schedule, they responded very quickly to a minor technical matter the day after the install. Since then, it has been rock solid. The products look great, are high quality and I have every confidence they will continue to perform well. Even with a mainstream provider my bill is in credit; I expect to do better still through a VPP. With Brownstone I had great customer service, an easy install, and got a quality product. Highly recommended.

Frequently asked questions

How much do solar installers typically charge?
Solar costs vary widely depending on system size, equipment choices, roof access and whether additional electrical upgrades or battery work are required. Simple panel adds or routine maintenance are typically much less involved than full system installs or battery integrations. This page shows live pricing to help compare current rates alongside the specific scope of your job.
Do solar installers charge call-out fees?
Yes — call-out fees are common for solar installers and are often charged to cover attendance and an initial assessment. Call-outs are usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency visits typically attract higher rates. Confirm whether a call-out fee is included or listed separately when comparing quotes.
Do solar installers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Solar installation work is required to be carried out by a licensed installer in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW installers are licensed through NSW Fair Trading. Many installers also hold industry credentials such as Clean Energy Council accreditation and may display a valid state electrical contractor licence on quotes, as well as public liability insurance. These credentials can help indicate the installer has relevant training and compliance practices.
Does Brownstone solar have a verified ABN?
Yes. Brownstone solar has completed ABN verification on SureQuote.
