We engaged Luke and his team to replace an ageing rear entertaining deck as well as some much needed drainage work behind a sandstone retaining wall. Luke was great in developing a full scope of works which allowed us the flexibility to select different options that suited us as home owners. His promptness, excellent communication throughout and quality of workmanship was no less than excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend his services. Peter and Mellissa Allen - Lisarow

Luke completed for us quite a difficult landscaping job that had to work around a poor installation. I was really impressed with Luke‘s knowledge and adaptability to make everything fit with budget but look great. I couldn’t recommend Luke highly enough and would definitely use this business again. The whole experience was just painless with no surprises thank you very much.

Luke was the most reliable tradesperson I have ever contracted! From the time of first quoting to the end of the job, Luke was timely, honest, innovative and he cleaned up so well at the end of a dirty job!! I would highly recommend Luke to anyone wanting a retaining wall. I just wish I had more jobs at my place so I could hire Luke again 🙂

Landscaping costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
