What is the SureQuote Home Logbook, and is it free?

The Home Logbook is a free record of the work done on your home, kept in your SureQuote account. It includes your SureQuote jobs, other work you've logged, finished maintenance tasks and your documents, like warranties and invoices.

Add another home

You can keep a logbook for up to 25 homes.

  1. Open Property.
  2. Next to Own more than one place?, choose Add a home.
  3. Enter the address and answer the questions about the home.

How do I start a Home Logbook for my home?

Sign in or create a SureQuote account, confirm your email, add your home's address and answer a few questions about it. Your logbook, Documents page and maintenance plan are then ready.

  2. Enter the 6-digit code we email you.
  3. Enter your home's address.
  4. Choose the type of home and roughly when it was built.
  5. Answer the questions about your home.
  6. Pick what matters most to you.

When you finish, you see your maintenance plan, and your home is in your account.

What can I keep in my Home Logbook?

Your SureQuote jobs, past work done by anyone (including you), and your warranties, invoices, receipts, manuals and certificates. A SureQuote job goes in when you mark it done in Hire.

Add a SureQuote job

  1. Open Hire and open the job.
  2. Choose I hired a tradie, pick the business and choose Save.
  3. Choose Job done, enter the date and choose Save to logbook.

Add past work

  1. Open Property and choose Open the Logbook.
  2. Choose Log past work.
  3. Say what was done and set the date. For your own work, put DIY.
  4. Choose Save.

Add a document

  1. Open Documents and choose Upload.
  2. Take a photo, or choose a photo or PDF.
  3. Pick the type, name it and add any expiry date.
  4. Under File it with, pick a past job or something in your home.
  5. Choose Save document.

Can I add jobs done before I joined or by other tradies?

Yes, you can add any work done on your home, whether it was years ago, by another tradie or by you. Open your Logbook, choose Log past work, and enter what was done and roughly when. Add the cost, the trade and who did it if you know them.

Add past work

  1. Sign in, open Property and choose Open the Logbook.
  2. Choose Log past work.
  3. Say what was done, such as "Hot water system replaced", and set the date.
  4. Add the cost, the trade and who did the work, if you know them. For your own work, just put DIY.
  5. Choose Save.

The entry shows in your logbook in the month you gave. The more detail you add, the more useful it'll be when you need it later.

Keep the paperwork with it

To keep an invoice, receipt or warranty with the entry, open Documents and choose Upload. Take a photo or choose a file, then under File it with, pick the job from Past jobs.

Where to start with older work

The jobs that matter most later are hot water, roofing, electrical, plumbing and waterproofing, so those are a great place to begin. Add anything with a warranty that's still running, too. Don't worry if you can't remember the exact date: your best guess is fine.

Anyone in your household can log past work for the home.

Who can see my Home Logbook, and how do I share it?

Only you and the people you invite to your home. Tradies can't see your logbook or documents, and we don't sell your logbook.

Invite someone

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under Your household, choose Manage.
  3. Choose Invite someone, enter their email address and choose Send invite.

They get an email with a link to join. Everyone you invite sees the home's logbook, documents and tasks, and can add to them.

Remove someone

Open Settings, choose Manage under Your household, find the person and choose Remove.

Can I download my Home Logbook or pass it on when I sell?

Yes. As the owner of the home, open Documents and choose Export all, or open the Logbook and choose Export. When you sell, open each warranty, manual or certificate in Documents, choose Download and give copies to the buyer.

Can I keep a logbook for more than one home?

Yes. You can add up to 25 homes to one SureQuote account, like an investment property or a holiday house. Each home gets its own logbook, documents, maintenance plan and household. To add one, open Property, choose Add a home and answer a few questions about the address.

Add another home

  1. Sign in and open Property.
  2. Next to Own more than one place?, choose Add a home.
  3. Enter the address and answer the short questions about the home.

The new home opens in your account, with you as its owner. The 25 includes any homes other people have invited you to.

Each home keeps its own record

Logbook entries, documents, tasks and household members all belong to one home. Before you log work or upload a document, check the right home is open: its name shows at the top of the Logbook.

Your SureQuote jobs stay with the home they were for.

Sharing and downloads, home by home

You choose who to invite to each home. Your partner might share your own home while your investment property stays just with you. Download each home's record from that home's Documents or Logbook.

Rental properties

A rental's logbook is a handy place for its jobs, invoices and certificates. For tax time, keep your records in whatever form your accountant asks for. Only invite people who should see every document for that property.
