So happy. I had two tiltadoors that had been giving me grief for years, one was very noisy and not smooth, the second one was jumping off the rails. Paul from Lancaster Garage Doors sorted them out and they are now smooth and quite. Had a motor replaced during the service. Top service and most friendly and amiable service.

I’d driven over an hour because my father was in a desperate situation — his house settles in two days — and suddenly the door stopped working. Paul was instrumental in helping us. He contacted the right people, checked the warranty, and organised for the door to be fixed within the hour, all without any benefit to himself. His respect for the situation, his initiative, and the fact that he acted despite having nothing to gain speaks volumes about his integrity and understanding of true service. Which in business is now becoming rare. Paul genuinely stands out. Based on this experience alone, I wouldn’t consider recommending anyone else for this type of work.

Paul was great to deal with, respectful, friendly, open and honest. Great pricing, and quality workmanship. Even offered great advise on how to do my own servicing. Highly recommended.

I had a broken cable on my garage door that left it completely stuck and unusable. I contacted Paul and he was able to come out the next day. Paul was professional, friendly, and clearly knew what he was doing. He quickly identified the issue, replaced the broken cable, and did a full inspection and tune-up of the entire system. He also adjusted the tension and lubricated the moving parts, leaving the door working smoother and quieter than it has in years. The pricing was great, and there were no surprise fees. I really appreciated how transparent and efficient the whole process was. It’s rare to find service this prompt and dependable these days. Highly recommend if you're dealing with a broken garage door or just need quality service!

Door Installation costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do door installers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on whether the job is a simple adjustment, a standard internal or external door install, or work involving custom doors or frame modifications. Quotes commonly combine a call-out fee, hourly labour and materials, with after-hours or emergency work usually attracting higher rates. The live pricing shown on this page reflects current regional rates and the typical job bands for each type of work.
Do door installers charge call-out fees?
Many door installers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Call-out fees are common in the rate card, though they may sometimes be waived if substantial work proceeds; it’s worth confirming this when requesting a quote. After-hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates.
Do door installers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Door installers generally need a contractor licence or registration in every Australian state and territory; in NSW the relevant authority is the Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). Look for a valid state contractor licence or registration displayed on quotes and advertising, an ABN with active registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
How do I get a quote from Lancaster Garage Doors?
Lancaster Garage Doors lists phone or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
