Jack was great. His service was terrific. He was responsive, helpful even with minor issues post build (the issues being with the decking material we chose). Only regret was we didn't build some fall on the deck as it does collect water. Highly recommend Jack. You won't regret it.

Jack recently replaced our 30 year old rotting deck. I received his recommendation via Eko Decking HQ. After years of painting and hammering countless nails raising to the surface over the years, I couldn't be happier with the new Eko deck. No more deck maintenance! Jack was punctual, pleasant to deal with, quoted competitively and cleaned up after the job was finished. He also worked around me, as I wanted to paint the substructure before the Eko decking was laid. Jack is a very capable young carpenter who takes great pride in his work. Give him a try!

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
