Luke installed our fireplace, he was very competent and efficient and took a particular care to ensure it was safely installed. It looks great. We have booked him again to do our ensuite upgrade.

What an amazing team! We had a vision of what we wanted being replacing an aluminium sliding glass door to a door with doggy door and side glass panel which they created, custom made and implemented all on the same day. I couldn't recommend them highly enough and can't wait to have then quote on our next projects! Photo of the finished result (which we painted ourselves)

I can recommend Luke and his team very highly. They built two decks for us as well as assembling our shed and removing old guttering and fitting new ones. Their carpentry work is of outstanding quality and I trust them to do an excellent job every time. They have a real can-do attitude and are friendly and helpful. I'd definitely use Luke again.

Carpentry costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
