  Old School Builders - We found John from an internet search of builders in the area. He gave us a competitive quote and began work within a couple of months. He completed the majority of the works himself and had other trades assist along the way. He kept us informed along the journey and detailed us with any findings or ideas he had to tackle parts of our renovation. Our renovation consisted of some minor structural work that involved a Structural Engineer to plan and Surveyors to oversee - widening some openings and removal of a small wall. A new kitchen, bathroom, laundry and built-in cabinetry in our lounge room. Also new hybrid flooring throughout the house, tiles in the bathroom and powder room and carpets to 2 of our bedrooms. The quality of his finish was excellent and he was a gentleman to work with. He has a very genuine feel and delivered on this with his product. My wife and I would recommend him highly to anyone looking to renovate...we have already referred him to friends of ours in fact. Thank you John 👍👍

  John has completely transformed our weatherboard home in a matter of 6 weeks. We met John first during our bathroom renovation 2 years ago and were impressed by his work ethic and trusted him with our home renovation. The project had multiple surprises considering it is a 100 year old home but John seamlessly handled all the issues with clear communication and professionalism. We are absolutely happy and thrilled with the result. Right from the quote all the way to hand over, John has been diligent and worked with us to make sure we are not compromising on quality while sticking to a tight budget. We took down a massive double breasted chimney, removed walls and re did the kitchen. We will absolutely recommend John for any minor or major renovation projects and trust him to be fair and competent.

  We’ve worked with John from Old School Builders before and already knew about his outstanding workmanship and once again he exceeded expectations. Our recent extension added a new bedroom, master bathroom, laundry and extensive cabinet work, including his & hers closets, a linen closet and custom cabinetry in the laundry. The amazing tile work in the bathroom has completely transformed the space and shows the level of detail and pride John brings to his projects. The job also involved removing an existing patio and working on a house on stumps, which added complexity. John handled it all with ease, ensuring everything was safe, precise and up to the highest standard. He was meticulous in his planning, coordinated seamlessly with electricians, plumbers, surveyors and window specialists, and when design/measurement issues arose, he solved them quickly with practical solutions that improved the outcome. The quality, finish and professionalism throughout the project were exceptional.   John gave us a competitive quote for the extension that we wanted. He was meticulous with the framing, sub floors and was able to keep much of exiting annex as we had asked, to save on materials. Roofing, drains and electricals were great, as were the internal and external finishes. Would use again.
