  I commissioned Evenwedge Homes to build a new home for me and my wife. From the outset, the experience was quite positive. Joe provided me with a thorough quote which was close to the mark on everything we wanted - unlike others who either underquoted or overquoted. He was flexible throughout the build process and allowed me many site visits. During these site visits, I spoke to his trades people and learnt that most of them had been working for Joe for many years. These long term relationships, especially in the building industry, spoke volumes of the type of person Joe is and it was comforting for me to know that I was dealing with a person of integrity. Joe’s flexibility extended to making required alterations to the build without any issues and to also allowing me to organise my own solar power system as well as appliances and fittings. I found him to be very accommodating to our needs and nothing appeared to be too difficult for him. Prior to this build with Evenwedge Homes, I had previously built a few homes and I know from experience that build processes never go 100% smoothly. There are always glitches and hiccups and one of the hallmarks of a good builder is how he attends to these issues. This build process also had some glitches and hiccups. However, without fail, Joe was always there to fix the problems when they arose and ensured that my wife and I were happy with the fixes. The build took a little longer than expected, however the process is not a race – it’s about achieving that final goal – a good quality home. To this end, the final product is indeed a very good quality home that my wife and I are very happy with. If I was to build again, I would definitely be seeking a quote from Evenwedge Homes again.   After discussions with multiple builders when we were finishing our architect drawn building plans, we decided to go through Joe at Evenwedge due to his great communication, transparency and confidence to deliver what we were wanting for our long term family home. The build process, always stressful for the home owner, was made much more positive for us due to Joe’s continued regular communication and the ability for me to regularly visit the site to see if our ‘ideas’ were transferring to the drawings and then into reality. This made the whole process smoother and helped us communicate our vision to Joe on a more clear level. After completion, we were over the moon with the outcome, and learnt a lot from the build process. Things we would do again, and differently. Having a clear vision of what you want and being able to communicate that to both the architect and builder is key and I think for our first custom build, we all achieved a fantastic outcome with Evenwedge and within our budget due to the careful planning and consistent communication with Joe, which has continued after the build process finished. Thank you Joe and Evenwedge.

  i spent years researching builders before we found Joe from Evenwedge Homes. Our first home was built by Metricon homes and we had a below average construction where we learnt a lot. We took our time researching and spoke with a number of builders prior to making the decision to build with Joe. Evenwedge Homes was the perfect fit for us as we were embarking on building our dream home and we wanted a lot custom bespoke elements that Joe assisted us build where no other builder would consider. Joe spent a lot of time with us, getting to know us and meeting our specific requirements. We are so happy with our home, Joe went above and beyond in the quality and construction of every element of our home. I watched every stage and detail of our build and we were always happy with his trades and the finish product that we have now been living in for a number of years. Since our construction completion Joe still keeps in contact with ensuring that we’ve been completely satisfied. Joe was fantastic to work with—always responsive, patient, and willing to answer my endless questions, even after the house had been handed over. He is knowledgeable, reliable, and honest in his advice, which gave us confidence throughout the entire process. A good builder isn’t just about putting up walls; it’s about communication, trust, and pride in their craft—and Joe delivered on all of these. He also went above and beyond by stepping in to resolve a couple of issues with neighbours, which showed his professionalism and commitment to making things right.   We chose Evenwedge Homes to build our 50-square home after an extensive search for a suitable builder. From the outset, Joe Tabone, Principal of Evenwedge Homes, impressed us with his attention to detail—he was the first to identify a deficiency in the original engineering drawings of the foundations. That gave us immediate confidence in his knowledge and capability. We also inspected many of his past and ongoing projects and were consistently impressed by the quality of workmanship. While our home was more complex and of a higher specification than Joe’s typical builds, the outcome has exceeded our expectations. The house is of excellent quality, thoughtfully finished, and most importantly, extremely comfortable to live in. We are very pleased with the entire process and would not hesitate to recommend Joe and Evenwedge Homes to anyone considering building a new home.
