We engaged Built By Wood for a bathroom renovation project and from the minute Brian and Pam contacted us, we knew we had made the right decision. Pam worked with our budget and provided several options for us to consider, and once work started Brian and his tradespeople were clean, considerate and professional. We were kept up to date as the project progressed, and anything outside the scope of work discovered was clearly communicated. This bathroom project was our first big renovation. We came well prepared, and so did Brian and Pam. We chose them for their professional communication and quoting process, reasonable price, responsiveness, and of course the quality of the projects on their website. The whole renovation has gone better than we could have hoped! A builder is only as good as their subcontractors, and Built By Wood have chosen their subcontractors with so much consideration and care. All the subbies were friendly, respectful, and happy to share info about their work and have a laugh. Most importantly, the quality and consistency of their work was impressive. There was no excessive noise, aggression or mess. Pam was enthusiastic and supportive for the initial stages of selection, finding options for our specific criteria and negotiating prices for us. She also supported us throughout the process, handling the administrative side of the project with exceptional patience and commitment. Brian was great from start to finish: patient, knowledgeable and took all of our questions and concerns seriously. We received daily updates during the main construction for which trades would be there at what time. Brian also had lots of small tips and tricks that took the bathroom to the next level. There were a few unexpected costs as a result of renovating an old house, but Brian always communicated the reason and rough costs for our approval before doing anything. The few hiccups along the way were handled swiftly and gracefully. The only thing I'd suggest is these guys need to hire someone else in their team for more support. They’ve got a lot to coordinate, because good news travels and they’ve got a full plate. The finished bathroom is such a well executed place. We're particularly happy with the tiling, which is a notoriously difficult skill where you see too many notch jobs. Everything is aligned well, sealed, safe and looks beautiful. Already thinking of planning our next (much bigger) project with them!

Brian and Pam were fantastic to work with; from sourcing product to liaising with suppliers, they went above and beyond. The majority of trades were professional and courteous, and Brian being keen to ensure the best outcome was very forthcoming with ideas, options and follow-up. Anything requiring touch up or refinishing was attended to quickly, and the reno area was kept clean after each day of work. I would absolutely recommend Brian and Pam Wood, of Built By Wood and will use them again for future projects.
