  Brendan is professional, kind, and patient. We renovated our house, and wanted a qualified builder to construct a passive/high performance house. We engaged an architect, but not beyond drawing/planning stage, so Brendan had to deal with us for the entire construction stage, choosing materials, having to help us work out options when certain things ended not being available or out of our price range. He remained patient, easy to work with, and came up with brilliant solutions every step of the way. Thank you Brendan & crew for a fantastic experience. The attention to detail and excellent workmanship is really really appreciated.

  Brendan is an exceptional builder, and I highly recommend him. Working with him was a pleasure, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. His dedication to his craft, attention to detail, and clear communication made the entire process smooth and stress-free. As with any build, challenges arose, but Brendan worked closely with us to find the best solutions, always keeping us informed. My partner and I are both designers, and we place a high value on getting the details just right. Brendan truly understood this and went above and beyond to meet our expectations.   We employed Basus Build to extend our Victorian home, doubling the size by adding a new family room and kitchen, ensuite bathroom, laundry, and loft storage space. We also had new windows put in an existing room and included an old bay window that we had sourced in the build. This was our second experience working with Brendan and he didn't disappoint. Brendan is highly professional and very patient. He was always available to address our questions and listen to our ideas. The contract was comprehensive and the schedule of payments easy to understand. Brendan's team were skilled and approachable and we had no complaints about their work. As mentioned by another review, Brendan and his team were very courteous and considerate of our neighbors and every effort was made to recycle old material. The build did take a little longer than expected due to kitchen and roofing supply issues, which were beyond Brendan's control, but Brendan's communication was excellent and we were never worried. We highly recommend Basus Build and would gladly use them again.

  We had a wonderful experience with Brendan and his team who completed a renovation on our kitchen and bathroom. Brendan was easy to work with and transparent with timing and costs during our communications for the reno. He’s also been super helpful since the reno and honouring the warranty when we needed something small fixed up. We’ve recommended him and his team to others and wouldn’t hesitate to work with him in the future.

  We put off a major renovation for a decade, fearing the stress. However, partnering with Basus Build made it a surprisingly smooth experience. Brendan was professional, and an excellent communicator who held weekly progress meetings with us and always followed up discussions with written minutes to ensure we were on the same page. Our renovation was high-quality, with realistic quotes and explanations for both more expensive and cheaper options. The crew and tradespeople were skilled, friendly, professional, and considerate of the neighbours. The work site was non-smoking, free from annoying loud music and incredibly tidy, with regular rubbish removal. The demolition prioritized recycling and minimizing waste, which was important to us. Brendan was eager to accommodate our needs, explaining the formalities of the build, including insurances, and going through the contract in detail. He collaborated well with the building designer and interior decorator to achieve a high-performance build, now a pleasure to live in with significantly reduced energy bills. Despite the challenges of COVID-related supply uncertainties and fluctuating quotes, Brendan's effective coordination ensured negligible delays and cost increases. Our build was on time, and any budget overruns were due to our own changes in choices. After moving in, the few minor issues were addressed to our satisfaction promptly. We are thrilled to be living in a comfortable, beautiful new home.
