Essential Solar

Fantastic experience with Essential Solar and I keep going back for more! So far the team have completely replaced and upgraded our old solar system, installed a PowerWall 3 with 2 extension packs, and replaced our old gas heating with a brand new ducted HVAC system. I always ensure that I have multiple quotes for jobs like these and also do my own research. Not only did Essential Solar provide a very competitive quote... they listen. It was evident from the first consultation with Asad that it is not just about sales, it's about meeting the actual needs of the customer. That's why I keep going back. Also, the team makes everything so easy and you feel supported every step of the way. The install teams have all been great. Quick, no messing around, and clean up at the end of the job. Everyone has been polite, professional, and obviously take great care in everything that they do. Ed, Asad, Sam, Hayley... and all of the guys... keep being awesome!

Essential Solar did a great job supplying and installing my 20KWH enphase IQ Battery 5P FlexPhase (x4) batteries. From the initial discussion on positioning, to dealing with the installers and electricians on the day (great to see a female sparky). The finished job was neat well thought out, and safe. Would definitely recommend them.

Essential Solar need to be commended on the professionalism and efficiency with which they handled my solar installation. Their price was competitive, and Sam also reviewed the system and made a generous contribution, through no pressure from my end. Purely because he saw that an extra panel was needed to make the most out of the installation. It took 2 weeks from quote acceptance to being able to turn on the system, which is pretty fantastic, considering the amount of paperwork and coordination that no doubt needs to be done in between. They were understanding of my needs and requirements, and listened to my questions, and answered them honestly. I had some queries about placing some panels on the opposite facing roof, and they were willing at every point to discuss this and come back with reviews based on my query. And their installer was extremely courteous and professional in my dealings with him on the day. This was alongside a previous smaller solar installation that has been sitting on the roof for a while now. To top it all off, they are a local company, which has left me with more than a touch of feel good about doing my part. Keep up the great work Sam & team.

The install team were professional, friendly, and had excellent communication. They tidied up everything after the installation. Although we had some connection issues after the solar and battery were installed, Vignesh from the tech support team was very helpful in assisting us to solve the problem. Now our solar and battery are working perfectly and we hardly have to use any energy from the grid!

The contract asked for an honest review so here it is: Cons: the salesperson can't measure a gap. Told me the battery would legally fit between two windows but the installing contractor said the gap was 50mm too narrow. The answer? To slap up a very functional and ugly sheet on the face of the exterior wall, covering part of a window so it couldn't be opened. Or install the battery 300mm off the exterior wall. So we went for the latter option. Once that was sorted the battery was installed but did not pass inspection. The inspection was 5 days ago and I have heard nothing about getting the installer back to fix the installation so that it passes. I've emailed and asked for a date but, of course, no reply. They have had our money for over a month but I'm still waiting for the product to work. Pros: I'll get back to you. UPDATE: the battery is installed and working and our power bills have been between 1c and 14c a day. So I guess the desired outcome was partially achieved (still not overly thrilled with the 300mm gap from the house). I was able to have a decent conversation with the engineer about how to manage a project, being a project person myself, and I have very strong ideas about how they could improve the process which I communicated. I doubt any ideas I conveyed will be implemented, but we got there in the end.

Essential Solar installed a BYD battery with back-up in case of power failure. I was very happy with the work they did and the support provided both during the installation and since. They also gave a competitive offer.
