Nick and the team at Matrix Energy Solar are top tier. Their pricing was extremely competitive, but it was the 'unspoken' details that really impressed me. I only requested a garage installation for the battery and they added all the specific safety measures (bollards and fire alarms) and just sorted it out without hassle - they even covered the scissor lift hire. They also accommodated an early installation request. Personally, I signed my contract on the 7th of Jan and the system was up and running on the 14th. Mad turn around time. Financially, the results make this an absolute no-brainer purchase. I installed 13.2 kW of Jinko Panels and 48 kWh of the GoodWe ESA All in One battery with 10kW inverter. The system is generating ~$5,500 value annually (expecting to save $3k in electricity costs and to earn $2.5k via my FlowPower plan exporting at 45c FiT for 2 hours everyday during the peak period). I could be looking at a <3 year payback period. Nick made the whole process easy and was always available to answer questions (even a couple of weeks after install when I messed up the settings on my app and he was quick to fix, the absolute legend). Highly recommended.

I recently had a solar and battery system installed and couldn’t be happier with both the product and the service provided. The system installed consists of: 1 × GoodWe EHB 9.99 kW Hybrid Inverter (single phase) 2 towers of GoodWe Lynx G2 batteries (22.4 kWh per tower), providing a total of 44.8 kWh usable capacity 13.3 kW of Jinko Solar panels (28 panels) From start to finish, the entire process was completely pain free. The installation was exceptional, carried out professionally, and to a very high standard. Communication was excellent throughout — I was kept well informed before, during, and after the installation, which made the whole experience seamless and stress free. A special mention to Nick from MES. It’s clear that he and his team genuinely value customer satisfaction. Their attention to detail, transparency, and willingness to explain each step of the process really stood out. I would highly recommend MES to anyone considering solar and battery solutions. The quality of the installation and the level of service exceeded expectations.

Nick and the team at MES provided a competive price on a 10kW solar system, with Goodwe 10kW 3 phase inverter and Goodwe 32kWh batteries. The sales process was smooth and communicative, and the install was extremely neat and tidy. Although this is a smaller and fairly new solar company, they provide first rate service and quality workmanship. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a solar and battery system.

Mes didn’t compete on price, but deliver quality gear, local team, and someone to speak to. We chose known brands Jinko + Sigeenrgy battery with right size, just a good system that works

Solar costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do solar installers typically charge?
Solar costs vary widely depending on system size, equipment choices, roof access and whether additional electrical upgrades or battery work are required. Simple panel adds or routine maintenance are typically much less involved than full system installs or battery integrations. This page shows live pricing to help compare current rates alongside the specific scope of your job.
Do solar installers charge call-out fees?
Yes — call-out fees are common for solar installers and are often charged to cover attendance and an initial assessment. Call-outs are usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency visits typically attract higher rates. Confirm whether a call-out fee is included or listed separately when comparing quotes.
Do solar installers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Solar installation work is required to be carried out by a licensed installer in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW installers are licensed through NSW Fair Trading. Many installers also hold industry credentials such as Clean Energy Council accreditation and may display a valid state electrical contractor licence on quotes, as well as public liability insurance. These credentials can help indicate the installer has relevant training and compliance practices.
How do I get a quote from Matrix Energy Solar (MES)?
