I was referred to QLD Leak Locators from my local pool shop as I had an ongoing pool leak that no one had any success with finding. From the very first contact with the team I was so impressed with their professionalism and the amount of concern and understanding they had with what I had been through. When they came out to locate the leak the guys were so good and efficient and found the leak and repaired it promptly. They did a major underground repair under sandstone, which I'm so appreciative and impressed with it. Highly recommend.

Qld Leak Locators is a family owned and operated small business. Nathan and Natalie and their team have decades of experience and expertise. They have conducted major repairs to the 47 year old pool in our strata titled residential complex in Taringa, in 2018 and again to address a different leak in 2025. Their advice is always worth listening to. For the level of work required, their costs are modest considering the hours of labour for two tradesmen plus the specialist equipment and materials needed. They work incredibly efficiently, but unlike cowboys in their business they know what they’re doing and are able to plan and execute the task with no indecisive time wasting. On both occasions the standard of their work exceeded our community’s (demanding) expectations. When completed everything was restored such that it was impossible to discern which tiles had been dug up!

Frequently asked questions

How much do pool technicians typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the type of job, its complexity and whether parts or full equipment replacements are required. Call-out fees, diagnostic time and after‑hours attendance often increase the total. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes for your specific job.
Do pool technicians charge call-out fees?
Many pool technicians charge a call-out fee to attend and carry out an initial diagnosis, which is usually separate from hourly labour and parts. After‑hours or emergency visits often attract higher rates. Check the live pricing shown on the page and confirm any call-out or minimum fees when getting quotes.
When do pool technicians need a licence?
Registration or a contractor licence is required in some states, with NSW, QLD and SA commonly requiring a current state contractor licence that can be verified on the public register. Whether a licence is needed often depends on the scope of work, so it's wise to ask for licence details and proof of insurance for larger installations or contractor-level work. Industry memberships and qualifications such as SPASA membership and Certificate III or IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service are common indicators of experience.
