    I’m usually pretty handy, but I tried to install a smart lock myself and completely botched the alignment. The door wouldn't latch properly and the motor was grinding. I called for help and the locksmith was so cool about it. He didn't make me feel dumb for messing it up, he just jumped in, mortised the frame a bit more, and got everything centered perfectly. Now the auto lock feature works every single time. Definitely worth the service fee.
