Locked myself out on a Saturday arvo and it kind of screwed my night because I was stressed. When I called they said someone would be over in 25. They got there in 15. In terms of cost, I realised I had been ripped off in the past by another locksmith. Speedy, honest and friendly.

I had an excellent experience with Dr Lock 24 when I accidentally locked myself out. From the very first call, the lady on the phone was polite, professional, and reassuring. She told me a locksmith would be there in 15–20 minutes, and true to her word, she arrived right on time. What impressed me most was the efficiency — within just one second, the door was open! The whole process was smooth, stress-free, and handled with professionalism. I highly recommend Dr Lock 24 for their fast response, courteous service, and expert skills. Definitely a 5-star experience! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I had to call this locksmith after my elderly parents locked themselves out of their house for the second time. They arrived exactly within the time frame they promised and were professional, calm, and reassuring from the moment they arrived. What I appreciated most was their honesty. instead of trying to sell us a new lock or add unnecessary costs, they simply picked the existing lock so my parents could get back inside quickly and without extra expense. It was clear they genuinely cared about helping rather than upselling. Their service was efficient, trustworthy, and greatly appreciated. I’ve saved their details and will absolutely use them again if we ever need help. Highly recommended!

Frequently asked questions

How much do locksmiths typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job — a simple key cut or rekey is usually much less than emergency entry or full hardware replacement. This page shows live pricing for local providers to help you compare options. Many locksmiths charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate and materials, and after-hours or emergency work generally attracts higher rates.
Do locksmiths charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. This fee is usually separate from labour and materials and may apply even for quick or small jobs. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum charge when getting quotes.
Do locksmiths need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Locksmithing is a licensed occupation across Australia, and in NSW licences are issued by the NSW Police Force — Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED). You should expect a provider to display a valid state security licence number and to hold industry credentials such as MLAA, LGA or ASIAL membership, a Certificate III in Locksmithing, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
