Sam is an absolute gentleman. Called him on short notice to inspect an issue near our ducted heating and he made time in his busy schedule for us. He ended up replacing the whole system a few weeks later for a reasonable price. Very knowledgeable in regards to subfloor ventilation and has advised us on what we need to do and resources needed to help our cause. Would recommend his services to anyone seeking an honest tradesman, thank you Sam!

Heating costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do heating specialists typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on whether it's a new installation, replacement, repair or routine service, the job's complexity, and the parts required. Most quotes include a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work typically charged at a higher multiplier. Check the live pricing shown on this page to view regional rates and typical ranges.
Do heating specialists charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common for heating specialists and usually cover travel and the initial inspection. This fee is often separate from labour time and materials and may form part of a minimum charge for small jobs. It’s worth confirming whether a call-out fee applies when requesting a quote.
Do heating specialists need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Heating work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW the relevant authority is NSW Fair Trading (Building Commission NSW). You should ask to see their licence number and evidence of public liability insurance, and consider industry credentials such as AIRAH or AMCA as additional trust signals.
How do I get a quote from Duct Fixer?
Duct Fixer lists phone or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
