We recently had our garage doors removed and replaced by Peter and Luke of True Fit, and I very highly recommend them. Luke provided a solution which completely met our needs, and the installation itself was efficient and tidy. Once the windows and doors were ready, the entire install was completed in just 2 half days. True Fit worked around the quirks of our home too (e.g. a drainage pipe and a floor that wasn't level). We are very happy with the outcome and it's been a major transformation of the space. Thank you so much for your excellent work guys!

Excellent work by Peter & Luke. From a verandah to now a Queenslander. We are very happy.

Peter was fantastic, very prompt in providing a quote and then fitting a replacement security door for my investment property. I was doing my best to look after my tenants and he did his best in looking after both the tenants and making the process so easy for me. Would definitely use Peter again!

I cannot praise this company enough. Peter and his co-workers wasted no time in professionally and meticulously installing multiple louvre windows for me. The windows are of excellent quality and look amazing. These guys were just a pleasure to deal with and have in my home, and I truly appreciated the particular way they left things..virtually no cleaning up to do afterwards which is rare for tradespeople. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for quality windows and service. Thank you again Peter.

Door Installation costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do door installers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on whether the job is a simple adjustment, a standard internal or external door install, or work involving custom doors or frame modifications. Quotes commonly combine a call-out fee, hourly labour and materials, with after-hours or emergency work usually attracting higher rates. The live pricing shown on this page reflects current regional rates and the typical job bands for each type of work.
Do door installers charge call-out fees?
Many door installers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Call-out fees are common in the rate card, though they may sometimes be waived if substantial work proceeds; it’s worth confirming this when requesting a quote. After-hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates.
Do door installers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Door installers generally need a contractor licence or registration in every Australian state and territory; in NSW the relevant authority is the Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). Look for a valid state contractor licence or registration displayed on quotes and advertising, an ABN with active registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
