  We spoke to several companies before deciding to go with Harbour Decks and Pergolas for our pergola project. Many others seemed to overcharge, assuming customers wouldn't be familiar with construction or material costs. Jim and Mike, however, stood out for their honesty and fair pricing. They were happy to tailor the design to suit our needs and managed the entire process efficiently and with a strong focus on safety. Since our townhouse is in a strata complex, they even handled all the necessary paperwork to ensure we got the right approvals—something that made the process completely stress-free for us. Their customer service, workmanship, and professionalism were top-notch. They were respectful of our space, kept the area clean, and left very little for us to tidy up after the build was complete. We're extremely happy with the final result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Harbour Decks and Pergolas. We're even happy to share photos of the finished pergola to show the quality of their work. Highly recommended!

  I consulted several pergola companies for measurements, design, and material selection, but most of them were vague and lacked transparency, especially regarding pricing and materials. Communicating with Jim and his team was a completely different experience — smooth, honest, and professional. They were very transparent about the materials used, and patiently answered all my questions, including how various details would be handled. They also provided multiple design options. For the front pergola, we ended up choosing an opaque Colorbond insulated panel, which blends in well with the house. I originally wanted a custom-shaped design, but they gave me thoughtful advice about the potential issues that could arise with irregular shapes. I appreciated their honesty, and the final result confirmed that a regular shape was indeed the better choice. For the backyard, due to site limitations, we had to go with a custom-shaped design. We selected 4mm thick clear polycarbonate sheets paired with a dark grey frame — the structure is very solid. Despite Sydney’s heavy rainfall in May, there were no leaks at all. The waterproofing and sealing where the pergola connects to the house were done exceptionally well.

  We hired Lian to replace our old pergola with a new one. After the initial installation, there was a leaking issue. But I really appreciate how they handled it — they were honest, took full responsibility, and promised to fix it properly. True to their word, they purchased new materials and rebuilt the pergola from scratch. The final result looks great, and and we’re very happy with the outcome. Not only was the work done to a high standard, but the pricing was also very reasonable. It’s rare to find tradies who are this reliable, honest, and fair. Highly recommend them for their professionalism, integrity, and great value for money.
