Soltek installed a 13.3 kW solar system with a 30 kWh battery for us in December 2025. The system was well designed and sized appropriately for our needs, and it easily covers our daily electricity consumption. Since installation, we have drawn very little power from the grid. The main components include Winaico solar panels along with a Deye inverter and battery system. The DeyeCloud monitoring platform is intuitive and makes it easy to track power generation and household energy usage. Apart from a few minor teething issues early on—which Soltek addressed promptly—the system has been running faultlessly. Overall, we are very happy with both the installation and the service provided by Soltek.

It has been six months since the installation of the 13.2 KW SolarEdge micro inverters and battery system. In short, everything has been running great. I work from home and have two Uni students here, “far too much of the time”. On one sunny day, I used the ducted air-con, oven, cook top, dishwasher, and washing machine and paid nothing. My feedback on the installers: I appreciated the pre-installation site visit. they were on time, professional, solutions-oriented and meticulous. They left the place tidy and removed all materials. Their communication was clear always taking the time to answer my questions, no matter how small. But most importantly, they were just great guys. As always, there were minor issues here and there. However, they took the initiative to engage with Head Office proactively and followed up so that all issues were promptly resolved. Communication pre and post installation with Head Office has been excellent. Regarding the sales process. The agent was always available for calls and questions throughout the quote process and determination of the correct system, coming in person to my house twice. Communication was clear, and he provided everything I needed to understand to make an informed decision. In short, it was straight talk, not "sales talk” So, touch wood, long may things continue.

5 years ago I had Soltek install a 6.6kw system (20 panels with micro-inverters) which has performed pretty flawlessly and was 99.9% happy with the installation. With NSW rebates starting I got a quote from Damien to install a battery, I was going to add more panels but he recommended that I try with existing setup to start with as we're only a 2 person house. We also got the Solaredge free upgrade to 10kW inverter (from 5 kW) & hopefully the cashback offer. Their electrical install team (Blake and Amin) were both polite and efficient and did a great job with the install, taking into account the limited space available to place it, but its worked out perfectly. The install was neat and clean, and they cleaned up pretty well afterward (no tradie is perfect). Had a minor issue with the MySolarEdge app not reflecting the consumption rates for the first 2 days, I dropped a comment to the developers and by morning my app was showing all relevant info. Great resource for tracking production v consumption and battery levels. First full day of sun saw us get to 6am with almost no grid power, however the next day was very wet and cloudy and battery didnt charge much, we drew a few kWh from the grid... but sun is out this morning and battery nearly full again, will be by midday. Happily recommend Soltek as a supplier/installer for a solar system.

Overall quality of service and response time in any technical inquiry and feedback is competitive and satisfied. I had 13.32kwh systems on top of my house roof on purpose in the following spec. - 36 x 370w panels(Longi) - 36 x SolarEdge optimizers - 2 x 5kw SolarEdge inverters(wifi/wire) - SolarEdge production + consumption monitoring system via mobile app The reason why there are 2 x 5kwh inverters instead of 1 x 10kwh inverter is for HA(High Availability) that helps keep at least the half of Solar panels running to produce solar energy just in case of any fault on the one of two inverters may go fail and need to be fixed for some time being. Also, SolarEdge optimizers are adopted to maximize the production of solar power per a solar penal instead of a simple string inverter option without optimizer. Enphase MicroInverter was another option to utilize maximum power production per a panel prior to decision making, but SolarEdge optimizer was selected because MicroInverter has less cost efficiency as well as lower performance per a panel due to its capped solar power generation pet a its model. After all, in normal cases both 2 x 5khw inverters are up and running during the sun light and it is now producing up to 90.07kwh per a day(depending on weather condition) and it seems to already start to cover an electricity bill - the more the systems produces the more ‘Feed-in tariff’ helps pay off ‘Buy from grid’ cost. This was all consulted by Damien at Soltek Energy and I have learnt a lot about solar system while I asked around many solar system retailers since I started to research and study in 2019. And I made a decision to go with Soltek Energy now that Damien was transparent and gave me a long term solution in term of pricing, design, and product comparison. By the way, there are two things to be kept eyes on: - The installer drilled one of roof tiles to put a cable through to the inverter location. But they did not clean its dusts after work, which remain as shown in the photos - Soltek Energy advised that it would be washed away by rains. If not, they will clean it up. - The installer did not bring their own Sarking tapes(Insulation and duck tapes) as they believe that they don’t need it although they cut or made a hole on the Sarking under the roof tiles in order to do a wiring job and any other purpose - I noticed that installers cut the Sarking to check what’s underneath, added more they nailed on top of the Sarking to put an ladder holder. I had to argue with them and bought an Insulation tape then asked them to fix the area they cut or made a hole. This was reported to Soltek Energy since they do not run their own installer but outsources installation of Solar systems. The suggestion is to keep eyes on installation ongoing for sure. Other than these matters, I am very satisfied with overall service, consultation from the beginning, and this Solar system. Highly recommended!

We contracted Soltek to supply and install our 7kw solar system. Damien and his team were very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful in assisting us with selecting the right system. The installation was done very cleanly and their support team are great. We would happily recommend to others and use their services again in the future.

Frequently asked questions

How much do electricians typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job type, how much fault-finding is needed, and whether switchboard or circuit work is involved. Electricians typically charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, and after-hours attendance usually attracts higher rates. Check the live pricing on this page to compare local quotes.
Do electricians charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and are usually charged separately to labour and materials to cover travel and the initial assessment. Some providers may also have a minimum charge for small jobs, so it's worth confirming any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do electricians need a licence in Australia?
Yes — electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW licensing is through NSW Fair Trading. Electricians should display a valid state electrical licence number on quotes and advertising and will usually issue a Certificate of Electrical Safety on completion of work.
