John was upfront, and honest about recommending the right, not a short-cut solution. The fact he was busy and could not do it within a week (to us) was a good sign of the quality of his work. John replaced my external rear stairs. An excellent job where I could not fault workmanship. Left the site spotless. Further he used hardwood as opposed to pine, which others use. Overall very happy with the result and I have no hesitation in recommending Better Carpentry for any timber job.

John's attention to detail and workmanship are outstanding and not often found today. A set of straight steel stringer stairs at the front of a Queenslander was rebuilt in hardwood in an L shaped configuration. They look fabulous, will last decades given the quality of the materials used and I could not be happier - I highly recommend John for your next stair project.
