I was very happy with the detailed & in depth building & pest review we received. The report highlighted numerous maintenance concerns we hadn’t picked up. After reviewing the report we were able to make an informed decision not to proceed with the purchase. This report was money well spent to avoid committing to a property we were not up to maintaining & renovating. Thanks !

iSPECT Building Inspections came highly recommended to us. We've used them three times now, and the service has been exceptional each time. Our most recent inspection was booked on short notice, and with the tenant moving in within that week, iSPECT we able to accomodate us and booked our inspection for the very next day. You can't get better service than that. Troy has inspected two of our new builds, and is extremely thorough and goes about his work in a friendly and professional manner. The report is sent to you in a timely manner and in both cases they were received the next day. I highly recommend this company, and will continue to use them for future inspections.

A fast and professional service - inspection booked within 2 days of initial enquiry (almost unheard of in this climate). A very comprehensive report too and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions

How much do building inspectors typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the type of inspection, property size, report detail and travel required. Many building inspectors charge an hourly rate plus a call-out fee, with higher rates for after-hours attendance. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do building inspectors charge call-out fees?
Yes — many building inspectors charge a call-out fee to attend and assess a property. That fee typically covers travel and the initial assessment and is separate from the hourly rate and any report costs. It's sensible to confirm any call-out or minimum charges when requesting quotes.
Do building inspectors need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Building inspection and certifying work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed or registered building inspector or certifier under state and territory rules. In New South Wales the responsible authority is the NSW Building Commission (formerly NSW Fair Trading). Look for providers who display valid state registration, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
