We are very pleased with the construction of Harmac … the house is of high quality and exactly what we wanted . We went to see many builders, until we met Rod Chamber.. his way of working makes us trust and is very dedicated… in the construction process there are sometimes delays… but the quality of the build doesn't affect my thinking as quality over duration… the last part is the Driveway.. I am very pleased with the quality and very beautiful… Thanks Brandone.. the supervisor of the build process. .. genuine and friendly.. Thanks again Rod, Brandon. Harmac home builder

Frequently asked questions

How much do builders typically charge?
Builder costs vary widely depending on the job type and complexity. Minor repairs are generally much less than extensions, small builds or structural alterations that need foundations, framing or specialist input. Most quotes include a call‑out fee plus labour and materials, and the page shows live pricing to help you compare options.
Do builders charge call-out fees?
Call‑out fees are common and typically cover travel and an initial inspection or assessment. This fee is usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after‑hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates. Ask whether a call‑out or minimum charge applies when requesting quotes.
Do builders need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Building work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed builder in every state and territory, and NSW builders are regulated by NSW Fair Trading. Builders should be able to provide their state builder/contractor licence number and show appropriate insurances and ABN/GST registration. In Victoria, domestic building insurance is required above a state threshold for certain contracts.
