His down-to-earth manner and friendliness was so brilliantly human and straightforward in amongst this time of legal documents and everything else that goes with building a house.   I gave Andy a call as my husband and I are looking to buy land down near Hobart. I needed a professional opinion about the costs involved in purchasing and building on a block which had a steep slope. He spent the time trying to understand what our priorities were, giving advice and educating us about the process of a design & build, and giving us a rough idea of the costs involved. He suggested we check out his Facebook page, where there was a bunch of small articles that he'd written to help people like me make sense of what's important when you're considering land and building. His advice was invaluable, considered, honest and educated. I came out of our conversations better off, confident that the land that we liked was beautiful but not for us or for our needs. Moving forward, when we purchase our land I will definitely consult with Andy, and hopefully build through him. Buying land and a house is the biggest investment you'll make, besides having children and from what I've learnt through this process is its the planning stages that is vital for a productive and fruitful outcome!
