Blok Modular

When we started this project at Stradbroke Island, we were looking to build a beach house that felt relaxed, refined, and deeply connected to the landscape—but the idea of managing a traditional build in a coastal location felt overwhelming. Blok Modular offered a smarter, more streamlined solution that gave us confidence from the start. Their modular approach meant the build was faster, more efficient, and far less stressful. We didn’t have to worry about so many weather delays and unpredictable costs. Everything was handled with care and clarity, and the quality of the final result is outstanding. Working with Blok and Dan, Vokes and Peters was a true collaboration. They took the time to understand how we wanted to enjoy beach living and translated that into a design that feels both timeless and personal. The home captures the essence of coastal living—open, breezy, and beautifully grounded in its surroundings. One of the biggest surprises was the breezeway between the living and sleeping zones and the beautiful large deck facing home beach at Point Lookout. It was more than we’d originally imagined, but it’s become one of our favourite areas. It brings in natural light and sea air and creates a beautiful sense of flow throughout the home. Architecturally, the house stands out for its simplicity and elegance. The timber decks and hallways, operable screens, and elevated form give it a sculptural presence, while still feeling warm and inviting. It’s a build that turns heads, but more importantly, it feels incredible to stay in. The finishes and detailing are exceptional—far beyond what we expected from a modular build. Every surface and junction feels considered and beautifully crafted. It’s a level of quality that’s rare to find. Throughout the process, Blok was responsive, flexible, and genuinely invested in getting everything just right. Any changes or requests we had, were met with thoughtful solutions and a positive attitude. We’ve already recommended Blok to friends and family. They’ve redefined what’s possible with modular architecture, and the experience was not only enjoyable—it was inspiring. The most rewarding part is staying in a place that feels exactly like us. It’s a place of calm, connection, and beauty. And we couldn’t be happier with how it all came together.

From our first site meeting with BLOK Director, Dan Burnett taken while floating in a crystal-clear lagoon on a hot afternoon at Home Beach—we sensed he instantly understood the brief. Dan and his team at Blok Modular brought our vision to life with the Three Sisters terrace houses: a refined, sustainable, and deeply contextual response to coastal living, based on a long family history and connection with the Island. Built offsite and installed with minimal environmental impact, the homes maximise beach frontage, views, light, privacy, and breezes while sitting lightly in the landscape. Thoughtfully designed and executed, this project is a true showcase of modular architecture done right. We couldn’t be happier with the process or the result. The 2025 local and state architectural awards are testament to their design success.

My partner and I bought a steeply sloping block of land and searched for companies that could deal with the challenges of building on this tricky site. Thank goodness we found Blok Modular! Their expertise and creativity made a huge difference to the process and we are both extremely pleased with our new home. The design is innovative and the quality of the work is excellent. Almost every time I go out the front, one of the neighbours or a passerby comments on how great the house looks and how much it adds to the streetscape. Dan, Mackenzie and Stuart are outstanding and I highly recommend them.

We engaged Blok to design a large modular multi-unit short-term accommodation project. Dan and Matt were great to work with and turned my brief into a spectacular concept which has had a fantastic response from our investors. They produced prototype construction drawing, price estimates and promotional videos. Their vision and execution exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend them.

I had the pleasure of realising our dream home thanks to the vision of Dan.
