I have had many years of working with Schoon Building Solutions. Corey is a very experienced tradesman with exceptional knowledge across all facets of building industry. The work that was done for me over around 8 years was first class. We had many challenging homes to work in on behalf of Transport NSW and had exceptional outcomes. Corey is a man of his word and has the ability to problem solve on site as issues arise. I would have no hesitation in recommending Schoon Building Solution.

We were fortunate enough to have this group complete our flood repairs. They were all lovely to deal with, were very professional in their approach, were extremely patient with my indecisiveness ( not an easy task), came up with excellent solutions to problems associated with repairs where the original layout was very inefficient and overall they did an amazing job. The finished work exceeded all my expectations. I have no qualms about recommending them to anyone needing building work completed.

Frequently asked questions

How much do builders typically charge?

Builder costs vary widely depending on the job type and complexity. Minor repairs are generally much less than extensions, small builds or structural alterations that need foundations, framing or specialist input. Most quotes include a call‑out fee plus labour and materials, and the page shows live pricing to help you compare options.

Do builders charge call-out fees?

Call‑out fees are common and typically cover travel and an initial inspection or assessment. This fee is usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after‑hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates. Ask whether a call‑out or minimum charge applies when requesting quotes.

Do builders need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Building work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed builder in every state and territory, and NSW builders are regulated by NSW Fair Trading. Builders should be able to provide their state builder/contractor licence number and show appropriate insurances and ABN/GST registration. In Victoria, domestic building insurance is required above a state threshold for certain contracts.
