We did our recent Kitchen renovations with KHA Constructions and were absolutely thrilled with the outcome. The Kitchen Renovation included replacing cabinet doors, installing a stone benchtop, a new glass splashback and new flooring. From planning through to execution, Shervin and Mustafa were present on site during all aspects of the renovation ensuring we were happy with the outcome. We found them both very humble, easy to talk to and enjoyed the whole experience which would otherwise have been a nightmare to project manage. Compared to some other quotes we received for the renovations, they were very competitive. The quality of their work was so good that we even got them to support us with other construction work around the house such as ceiling repairs, painting etc. We highly recommend them and will definitely be calling them again for future renovations.

Excellent delivery/service and flawless execution. Shervin & Mustafa successfully renovated our entire house (bathrooms/kitchen/laundry/timberfloor/outside deck/painting/carpet/wardrobes...) and we could not be happier with the result. The service was impeccable/reliable throughout the entire project and I would not hesitate to recommend KHA to others. A great job indeed!

Shervin and Mustafa were very professional in their dealing with me. They communicated regularly, were easy to get a hold of, gave detailed progress reports and sent through photographs of the work. As I am remote, I didn't see the final outcome of the repair works in person, however, the feedback from the agent was that the work was done very well. I would certainly use KHA Constructions again. Thank you for the work.

Home Building costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do builders typically charge?

Builder costs vary widely depending on the job type and complexity. Minor repairs are generally much less than extensions, small builds or structural alterations that need foundations, framing or specialist input. Most quotes include a call‑out fee plus labour and materials, and the page shows live pricing to help you compare options.

Do builders charge call-out fees?

Call‑out fees are common and typically cover travel and an initial inspection or assessment. This fee is usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after‑hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates. Ask whether a call‑out or minimum charge applies when requesting quotes.

Do builders need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Building work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed builder in every state and territory, and NSW builders are regulated by NSW Fair Trading. Builders should be able to provide their state builder/contractor licence number and show appropriate insurances and ABN/GST registration. In Victoria, domestic building insurance is required above a state threshold for certain contracts.
