Huge thanks to Dave and the crew at Litchfield Tree Services. Made light work of our pesky Cocos palm. They were quick and incredibly professional. Highly recommend their services!

We recently had David and his colleague come and remove some very large and well established bamboo in our yard. They both got through it in next to no time while also preserving the surrounding trees, plants and yard and left the place spotless when they were done. I highly recommend them on service, price and quality of work and will certainly be using them again. 👍🏻

He took great care of our trees, left everything neat and tidy, and the end result looks amazing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a local arborist

David and his team responded quickly to a request to have a large dead tree removed from the grounds of the Cessnock Men's Shed. The tree was shredding large sections of bark and was preventing the construction of a new shed in the area. He was very accommodating in organising to carry out the work at a time that suited.

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
Does Litchfield Tree Services have a verified ABN?
