Updated review Jan 2025 - The solar system disconnected from the app, so I reached out to Johan via email at 8 PM for assistance. The following morning, he came over to reconnect the system. It's not just about the initial installation—his ongoing service is exceptional. Johan is a reliable, trustworthy professional you can count on. I still highly recommend Photonic Solar Solutions. My review of 2019: We have renovated our entire house and Johan is definitely in our top 5 of best contractors. He has integrity, is extremely knowledgeable, punctual and does not cut any corners. He is pleasant to deal with and goes that extra mile. We highly recommend Johan.

Photonic Solar deserves Five Stars, but I don't want my input to be viewed as "overboard" or "in-house", following the wise advise of "ignore both five star and one star" reviews. I just had a PVC system installed by Johan and his team at Photonic. The negotiaion, planning, installation and follow-up stages of the process have been some of the most enjoyable and productive of any I have experienced. Always available to answer questions, Johan works with you to install the best system for the situation that you, as the homeowner, find yourself in. His grasp of the possibilities that are "out there" is both encouraging and educational. I am very pleased with the resulting system and am confident that Photonic will provide excellent support. Photonic's interaction with the local energy provider has been seamless, which adds to the smoothness of the system's integration with the grid.

An absolute pleasure to deal with. Johan conducted an in depth survey and assessment of our infrastructure, current and future usage and our expectations, including future growth options such as allowance for battery storage. This was followed by the production of a detailed design and another consultation/Q&A process. Once we had selected Photonics, the installation process was smooth and issue free, largely due to Johan's initiative, drive and technical mastery. He has a high level of solar systems knowledge that allows him to produce a system solution, not just the installation of panels and an inverter. Panel siting and installation, conduit runs, inverter location and installation, were all to a high standard. The work was carried out as planned and the worksites were left clean with no rubbish left in our bins. Johan conducted a walk-through of the system with us post-installation and has checked in again to ensure we are happy and have no issues. The SolarEdge system and SolarEdge monitoring software are working well, allowing us to maximise the benefits/cost savings delivered by the system. I would recommend Photonics without hesitation.

I am extremely happy with the solar system supplied by Photonic Solar. Johan designed and installed a 5.4Kw system using 18 x SolarEdge Smart Module panels feeding into a 3 phase inverter. The job also included integrating our existing 1.5Kw system. The SolarEdge software which allows us to track our power generation and consumption in real time is very good. Even though it is winter the system has been generating over 6kwh at times during the middle of the day. Johan went out of his way to ensure the planning process went smoothly and there was constant consultation with us regarding options and requirements. The installation was carried out on the planned day and the workmanship was excellent. Johan also called me a week after installation to make sure we were happy with the system. I highly recommend Photonic Solar and Storage Solutions as a solar system supplier and installer.

First off, I'm surprised Photonics has so few reviews, despite the marvellous work Johannes does. Johannes is not only super brilliant and knowledgeable on pretty much everything, but he's also incredibly personable and nice. I've dealt with my fair share of tradies, but Johannes sets the benchmark for expertise, professionalism, and for simply being a stellar person. Before this gets any more embarrassing, let's talk about the job. Johannes installed a SolarEdge battery plus Battery Backup Unit, and a new SolarEdge inverter at my property. He was always on time, cleaned up at the end of the day, and was always free for a chat or to answer questions and provide advice. Prior to the job, he kept me in the loop via SMS or email, and his emails were super thorough and comprehensive whenever I asked him for advice or had any questions. The pricing was competitive, and even though there was a shortage on batteries, and he had a super packed job schedule, Johannes still managed to source the parts, and installed the system early in the year. I can't recommend Johannes highly enough, and I'm very grateful for Johanne's diligence and hard-work. Thanks again, and kinda sad the job's finished :D All the best Johannes, you deserve it!
