I recently used Magnus from The Smart Abode. He was very knowledgable and helped me setup the home automations I wanted. I now have the following setup and running like a dream on my new build in Noosa: - Integrated smart lock and camera security - Separate networks for my Guest and IOT devices - Several automated sequences for smart lighting, smart garage door opening and air conditioning All via a variety of triggers, eg. motion sensor, proximity detection or time based. He's been very responsive and I aim to continue to use him for future smart home improvements! Highly recommended for any smart home automation integrations on the Sunshine Coast. Thanks Magnus!

We finally have my Solar System talking to my EV Charger, Pool Pump and Pool heater! Our garage door even opens when we're with 200m of the road. Magnus is incredible with Zigbee, Wifi security, wifi optimisation & making 'dumb devices' smart. I couldn't recommend him more for smart home and automation.

Smart Home Installation costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do smart home installers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the complexity of the job and the number of devices involved, and the live pricing shown on this page reflects current regional rates. Many installers charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with parts or replacement devices added separately. After-hours attendance and significant network or wiring work generally increase the overall cost.
Do smart home installers charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and are typically charged separately from hourly labour. Diagnostic visits and on-site troubleshooting profiles generally include a call-out component plus time on-site. After-hours or emergency work often attracts higher rates or multipliers.
What qualifications should I look for in a smart home installer?
Smart home installers are not covered by a single national licence, so look for recognised industry credentials and verifiable business registration. Useful signals include CEDIA membership or a CEDIA‑certified technician (EST or IST), SIAA or CITA affiliation, and trade memberships such as Master Electricians Australia or NECA. Also check for an active ABN (verifiable via the ABR) and appropriate public liability insurance.
Does The Smart Abode have a verified ABN?
Yes. The Smart Abode has completed ABN verification on SureQuote.
How do I get a quote from The Smart Abode?
