Tony takes care of all aspects of my swimming pool including maintenance and repairs of equipment. He ensures I have the most suitable equipment to keep the pool in perfect condition, with no effort from me at all, even in between his visits. Highly recommended.

Excellent urgent call out service from Tony. He quickly identified issues that were hampering the pool pump (my lack of nous) and fixed another couple of things while he was there. He gave me some tips on maintenance and even in mid Summer urgent call out the fee was reasonable.

Tony managed to fit us in on short notice for a service and to check out our leaking filter. He was friendly and professional and provided some good advice on how best use our heat pump and manage our pool across the year. Happy to recommend and will use again.

We are delighted to have found Tony, from Jim's Pool Care. We had ongoing issues with algae when we were trying to look after the pool ourselves, and couldn't get on top of them. Now we have Tony visit us every six weeks, to clean and service the pool and we couldn't be happier. His fee is reasonable, and he is extremely knowledgable - and he explains everything clearly. Also he's just a really nice guy. I've stopped worrying about our pool now that Tony's got it under control!

Frequently asked questions

How much do pool technicians typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the type of job, its complexity and whether parts or full equipment replacements are required. Call-out fees, diagnostic time and after‑hours attendance often increase the total. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes for your specific job.
Do pool technicians charge call-out fees?
Many pool technicians charge a call-out fee to attend and carry out an initial diagnosis, which is usually separate from hourly labour and parts. After‑hours or emergency visits often attract higher rates. Check the live pricing shown on the page and confirm any call-out or minimum fees when getting quotes.
When do pool technicians need a licence?
Registration or a contractor licence is required in some states, with NSW, QLD and SA commonly requiring a current state contractor licence that can be verified on the public register. Whether a licence is needed often depends on the scope of work, so it's wise to ask for licence details and proof of insurance for larger installations or contractor-level work. Industry memberships and qualifications such as SPASA membership and Certificate III or IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service are common indicators of experience.
