So Jan 2025, we decided to refurbish our inground pool. We didn't initially choose Micheal from Bayside pools due to our timing schedule & went with another guy who claimed he had 24 years in the building industry(from FB)- what that man did to our pool was incomprehensible (COSTING US $11,000)... So who did we call next-Micheal and we could not be more grateful and pleased with the Bayside Pool Team-the guys all pitched in and helped create our new oasis. Micheal was great with his knowledge, expertise, his advice, which we followed and the outcome of the job was everything we wanted and more-I will add before and after pics and you be the judge- thank you to every single tradie that worked on our backyard project and got our backyard and pool ready for our daughters baby shower (our first grandchild) and just before TC ALFRED- Thank you Bayside Pools and all the trades teams that made our dream a reality.

When my husband and I started looking for a pool renovation company. We realised that Michael from "BAYSIDE POOL RENOVATIONS" was extremely professional, organised and was listening to what we envisaged. He fully understood what we were looking for, he had fantastic, innovative ideas. With Michael's team of qualified tradesmen, we were kept well informed and while the work was proceeding everything was kept very tidy and clean. An amazing transformation took place, our pool was taken from the 80's to a beautiful modern pool. The old style pool waterfall over rocks, has now been transformed to magical cascading waterfall. At night you can have an array of amazing coloured lights to suit your mood. Michael has gone above and beyond, assisting with landscaping. The outcome a beautiful end result. We would like to highly recommend the professional workmanship of " BAYSIDE POOL RENOVATIONS" big thank you to MATTY (Team Leader) and the team. Once again thank you for your diligence, your hard work much appreciated. Wishing you all the best on your future projects Rita & James Donnelly

Frequently asked questions

How much do pool technicians typically charge?

Costs vary widely depending on the type of job, its complexity and whether parts or full equipment replacements are required. Call-out fees, diagnostic time and after‑hours attendance often increase the total. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes for your specific job.

Do pool technicians charge call-out fees?

Many pool technicians charge a call-out fee to attend and carry out an initial diagnosis, which is usually separate from hourly labour and parts. After‑hours or emergency visits often attract higher rates. Check the live pricing shown on the page and confirm any call-out or minimum fees when getting quotes.

When do pool technicians need a licence?

Registration or a contractor licence is required in some states, with NSW, QLD and SA commonly requiring a current state contractor licence that can be verified on the public register. Whether a licence is needed often depends on the scope of work, so it's wise to ask for licence details and proof of insurance for larger installations or contractor-level work. Industry memberships and qualifications such as SPASA membership and Certificate III or IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service are common indicators of experience.
