Called in during the week. Manager was happy to give me advice to get my polaris cleaner up and running again. Didn't get it from them but still happy to help. Thanks.

Excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Easy to pop in, drop the water sample off, and get it tested while visiting IGA or the bakery. Then pop back in for the results and collect the chemicals which staff will help load into the car if they're not too busy. Thoroughly recommend.

Great customer experience. We took a bottle of our pool water in to be tested. They tested it, asked questions about the pool and then gave us a detailed explanation as to what we needed for our pool. We were not pressured to buy chemicals. We explained that we had stock of the recommended chemicals already. We went home, added the recommended chemicals. We will take another sample into them in two weeks time. And will happily buy whatever we need at that time. A really good experience. Thank you.

The Poolwerx team are great. Very professional, very knowledgeable and approachable. Only owning a pool for a short time they helped me in very way to understanding what was required and were very patient in addressing all the problems we had, without rushing solutions. Now our pool in a top-notch condition, best in the area I reckon :-)

The team at Poolwerx St Ives, Killara and Turramurra are simply amazing. Our pool was wrecked by the freak storm in 2019 across several parts of Kuringai council. I was told by my previous pool service provider (Swimart St Ives) that I had to spend thousands to apply for a council permit and drain out my pool due to ground water contamination. However when I called Poolwerx St Ives, I was told that they could restore my pool without having to go through the utter nonsense of draining my pool. Thank you Malcolm, Louis, Adam and Danny for sorting out our pool. We have been recommending our neighbourhood to switch from Swimart St Ives to Poolwerx.

Frequently asked questions

How much do pool technicians typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the type of job, its complexity and whether parts or full equipment replacements are required. Call-out fees, diagnostic time and after‑hours attendance often increase the total. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes for your specific job.
Do pool technicians charge call-out fees?
Many pool technicians charge a call-out fee to attend and carry out an initial diagnosis, which is usually separate from hourly labour and parts. After‑hours or emergency visits often attract higher rates. Check the live pricing shown on the page and confirm any call-out or minimum fees when getting quotes.
When do pool technicians need a licence?
Registration or a contractor licence is required in some states, with NSW, QLD and SA commonly requiring a current state contractor licence that can be verified on the public register. Whether a licence is needed often depends on the scope of work, so it's wise to ask for licence details and proof of insurance for larger installations or contractor-level work. Industry memberships and qualifications such as SPASA membership and Certificate III or IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service are common indicators of experience.
