I called as a bit of an urgent matter at 2pm on a Friday after not having any luck elsewhere and having ants all through our meter box and damaging the circuits and setting off the safety switches, requiring a call out electrician to come and get our power (and fridge full of food!) back on. We didn't want the ants to continue damaging the electrics so needed help with pest control too (mortein wasnt cutting it) but didn't have much hope of getting anyone out for at least about a week. I called RPM and he was able to come out in about 30mins which I was totally shocked and he was so kind and empathetic and went above and beyond, even ended up spraying the whole house, shed, sewing room and even caravan. He was super professional, very knowledgeable and was really a lot more affordable than others in town. Can 100% recommend, (and I rarely leave a review above 4 stars, so I really am impressed!). Thank you again RPM for your help, you lessened our very stressful day!

Frequently asked questions

How much do pest controllers typically charge?

Costs vary widely depending on the pest type, how extensive the infestation is, property access and whether follow-up visits are needed. Most pest controllers charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with materials and repeat treatments adding to the total. The prices shown on this page update live to help you compare current rates.

Do pest controllers charge call-out fees?

Many pest controllers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess your property, which is usually separate from labour and materials. After-hours, weekend or emergency attendance often attracts higher rates. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.

Do pest controllers need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Pest control work generally must be carried out by a licensed pest controller in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW licensing is administered by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW). Providers should display a valid state pest management licence and often hold industry credentials such as AEPMA membership or PestCert accreditation, public liability insurance and an ABN with GST registration. Many also provide a written service report and chemical usage log after treatment.
