McGrath were the painters used by our builder, Kingbuilt. Very poor quality work. Cutting in was dreadful, it’s not straight anywhere and there is wall paint on cornice, skirts and arcs and vice versa. Gaps not filled or painted under windows. Walls where it appears they used a different roller in some areas and paint is flaking off and big drops of paint in places. And that’s after 2 ant to fix it. External boards were not washed or primed prior to painting and now the house changes colour in different light and there is paint on the window frames.

They painted our new house the wrong colour initially. They did a very poor job on the inside of the house and stained the balcony horribly. We requested the painters return and fix the issues in January, in December They returned and they fixed the internal issues but refused to fix the balcony because we hadn't maintained the timber.... I must say from our experience, they are a business to avoid. I must also say that Clint, the person who finally returned, was a very pleasant person and did a good job. But he is not the boss.

Very substandard job. Grit and dirt in paint Hair painted over on wall All internal doors have runs and lumps Original colour showed through dining room ceiling. Paint peeled on exterior windows, stained glass window cracked. Roof showed original colour Hips of roof not painted at all Sliding doors damaged, letterbox run over. Tiles broken on roof during spraying causing leaks on ceiling in dining room. Ceiling rose in entry hall shows original ceiling pink colour through as cavities were not painted with small paintbrush just sprayed over and not completely, as rose itself shows original colour in places. Did not paint under shelves and benches properly did not bend or crouch down simply gave a cursory swipe, missing places. Another sliding door not fully painted, see photo, skirting board , door jambs and doors not sanded as per quote no holes or imperfections were filled or sanded, as per quote, just painted over showing up even more. Now as getting windows cleaned finding exterior paint spots all over windows, having to scrape all of that off before cleaning, see photo. Be very careful before engaging a painter as even if the one you choose is a member of an association, it does not guarantee a good job, as the association can not help you to remedy the job, when and if it is below standard and needs completely redoing. Always ensure that the painters doing your job are fully accredited and there are not more apprentices than qualified tradesmen doing the job.
