Top Grade Painting is a professional company, the price is reasonable and they did a good job painting my house. They also fixed my gate for me and help me to the leak in my roof. They said the roof guy left a mass in the gutter after cleaning and reminded me that get blocked in heavy rain. They helped in that way. I trust Top Grade Painting very much, and will contact again. 10/10

I couldn’t be happier with the work from Top Grade Painting. From the moment I reached out for a quote, their team was responsive, professional, and super easy to work with. They helped me choose the perfect colour scheme for my home and finished the job ahead of schedule — with zero mess left behind. The attention to detail was incredible. Every edge was crisp, no paint drips anywhere, and they even patched up a few wall imperfections I hadn’t noticed. My house looks brand new. I’ve already recommended them to a few friends and family. If you want quality and reliability, this is the team to call!

onestly, I wasn’t expecting to be this impressed. I hired Top Grade Painting to do a refresh of my living room and hallway, and they absolutely nailed it. The guys were super friendly, showed up on time, and didn’t rush anything you could tell they actually cared about doing a good job. They helped me pick a colour that works way better with the lighting in my place, and now it just feels brighter and more put together. No weird streaks or sloppy lines like I’ve had with painters in the past. Would 100% use them again and already told my neighbour to check them out.

I engaged Mo to paint the living area, kitchen and dining area, stairwell, passageway and main bedroom in my home. Mo provided excellent service. He gave me advice on the colour, explained what he was going to do, completed the job in a most efficient manner and transformed my house. He was also most pleasant to deal with and very considerate. I will definitely contact Mo again when l'm ready to paint the remaining rooms in my home.

Frequently asked questions

How much do painters typically charge?
Painting costs depend on the size of the job, the condition of existing surfaces, and whether the work is interior, exterior or both. Jobs requiring significant preparation such as sanding, filling or priming will generally cost more than a straightforward repaint over sound surfaces. Most painters quote per square metre or per room, with exterior work and multi-storey access typically attracting higher rates. This page shows live pricing for jobs in your area.
Do painters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. In most Australian states and territories, painters carrying out domestic work above a certain value must hold a trade-specific licence or registration. Licensing requirements and thresholds vary by jurisdiction — for example, NSW requires a Contractor Licence for painting work. A licensed painter should be able to provide their licence number on request, and you can verify it with your state's building authority.
How should I prepare my home before painters arrive?
Most painters will handle masking, drop sheets and surface preparation as part of the job, but clearing the area of furniture, wall hangings and fragile items beforehand helps the job run smoothly and may reduce your quote. For exterior work, ensure the painter has clear access to all walls and that garden beds or outdoor furniture are moved back. Discuss any specific concerns like lead paint, mould or moisture damage before work begins so the painter can plan accordingly.
