The leak appeared on the 12th, and with time running out, my dad personally requested Lucky, if he could organise the restoration before they left, Even though they were fully booked for three weeks, Lucky listened, understood the emotional importance of the request, and gave his word that he’d get it done, and he had his team start work, the very next day and within 4 days the full restoration and painting was completed. It wasn’t just about fixing a roof. For first-generation immigrants like us, there’s something deeply emotional about showing our parents that we’re settled and can handle challenges here and likewise for our parents to make sure their children are safe and well settled in the new country.
