I had previously gone to Bunnings and found that first Bunnings was unable to fulfil my order 100% and secondly they couldn't provide the expertise/knowledge required and thirdly ... 4 days to get a quote.. (made me wonder how long it would take to get the parts). Fourthly they were $50 dearer. ;) I wanted an entrance lock, a deadbolt and a padlock all keyed alike but using restricted keys. This shop is heaven on wheels. After explaining what I wanted it took 5 mins to show me the stuff and get a quote. About 2 hours to key all the items alike (restricted keys) and make me 5 keys. And I sincerely thank him for the advice on installation which saved me a few hours because I rarely read installation instructions... lol.

Having used Locktec Locksmiths before, I can say their service has always been awesome! Today, I needed a car key cut, and it was no problem at all for them. In the past, they’ve handled much more complex jobs for me with ease. They’re professional, reliable, well-priced, and offer good old-fashioned service you can trust. Highly recommend!

In an act of Darwinism, I managed to lock myself out of my house - with no phone, no money, every door and window securely locked with no way in. All I had was my car key and a little fuel to drive me somewhere close for help. I stumbled upon Locktec Locksmith by chance, and not only did they help me, but they had my front door unlocked within 10 minutes of me walking through their door. Price was very reasonable all things considered (And they do offer a variety of payment methods and will bring a portable eftpos machine with them on the job). Highly recommended.

These guys came out to quote and advise on changes to all our locks. Right from the start there was this no drama, can do attitude. We excepted the quote on the day, locks were ordered and installed within the week. It took longer than that for others to return calls. Owen & Jay are very friendly pleasant young men. Communication was great. Definitely recommend this Drysdale company.

Frequently asked questions

How much do locksmiths typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job — a simple key cut or rekey is usually much less than emergency entry or full hardware replacement. This page shows live pricing for local providers to help you compare options. Many locksmiths charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate and materials, and after-hours or emergency work generally attracts higher rates.
Do locksmiths charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. This fee is usually separate from labour and materials and may apply even for quick or small jobs. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum charge when getting quotes.
Do locksmiths need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Locksmithing is a licensed occupation across Australia, and in NSW licences are issued by the NSW Police Force — Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED). You should expect a provider to display a valid state security licence number and to hold industry credentials such as MLAA, LGA or ASIAL membership, a Certificate III in Locksmithing, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
Does Locktec Locksmiths have a verified ABN?
Yes. Locktec Locksmiths has completed ABN verification on SureQuote.
How do I get a quote from Locktec Locksmiths?
Locktec Locksmiths lists phone or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
