My car wouldn't start due to my key being too old and worn. I was stranded after work and I called Mick and he came straight away. Absolute legend. Very friendly, knowledgeable and tidy. Diagnosed the issue quickly and charged a very fair price. Highly recommend.

We called this number today because we lost the transponder to our key, after our key fob had cracked - we looked everywhere for the transponder but really couldn’t find it. We have a mitsubishi, and would have had to get the car towed to them in order to replace the key. However, Michael responded quickly, and arranged to fix our key and transponder issue immediately. Within 10 minutes, our car started and our stress over the key problem ended in no time! We saved heaps of money as he is very affordable, and we definitely recommend his service!!!

Goodness, Mick is a wonder! Even if my poor old car meant that programming a new fob was impossible, he patiently explained all of the details, gave me options, cut me a new key that has made locking and unlocking so much easier, and made me feel comfortable about the steps I had taken prior to calling him. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Frequently asked questions

How much do locksmiths typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job — a simple key cut or rekey is usually much less than emergency entry or full hardware replacement. This page shows live pricing for local providers to help you compare options. Many locksmiths charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate and materials, and after-hours or emergency work generally attracts higher rates.
Do locksmiths charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. This fee is usually separate from labour and materials and may apply even for quick or small jobs. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum charge when getting quotes.
Do locksmiths need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Locksmithing is a licensed occupation across Australia, and in NSW licences are issued by the NSW Police Force — Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED). You should expect a provider to display a valid state security licence number and to hold industry credentials such as MLAA, LGA or ASIAL membership, a Certificate III in Locksmithing, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
