I can't recommend Daniel highly enough. He was professional, prompt and generously provided a lot of information responding to my initial enquiry. The work Daniel did here was first class and he was even able to fix a lock that other locksmiths told me couldn't be fixed. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I will definitely be calling upon him again if needed.

Big shoutout to Daniel Pearce over at Pearce Locksmiths for saving the day! I was stuck with a premium safe that might as well have been a giant paperweight since I didn't have the key or the code. Gave Daniel a ring, and he was over the same day, didn't even charge me for coming out. The guy's a wizard with locks, had it open in less than an hour. And get this—while he was there, he sorted out a new car key for my dad, all for a price that made us think he'd made a mistake. No mistake, just Daniel being an absolute legend. Anyone looking for a locksmith who knows their stuff and doesn't rip you off? Call Pearce Locksmiths. Cheers, Daniel, you're a lifesaver!

Daniel would be one of the best trades people I have hired. I called Daniel as I needed locks changed & keyed alike on a property in Mount Barker. He was able to make it there on the same day. From first contact to end of job, Daniel was friendly, helpful, professional and respectful. He gave freely of advice and information, offered logical suggestions (meaning they were not made to extend the time worked or increase the cost). I felt he was genuinely focused on delivering the best outcome for me. He even cleaned up! Unconditionally recommend. Thank you Daniel!

Frequently asked questions

How much do locksmiths typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job — a simple key cut or rekey is usually much less than emergency entry or full hardware replacement. This page shows live pricing for local providers to help you compare options. Many locksmiths charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate and materials, and after-hours or emergency work generally attracts higher rates.
Do locksmiths charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. This fee is usually separate from labour and materials and may apply even for quick or small jobs. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum charge when getting quotes.
Do locksmiths need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Locksmithing is a licensed occupation across Australia, and in NSW licences are issued by the NSW Police Force — Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED). You should expect a provider to display a valid state security licence number and to hold industry credentials such as MLAA, LGA or ASIAL membership, a Certificate III in Locksmithing, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
How do I get a quote from Pearce Locksmiths?
