Ben has absolutely transformed our yard and we couldn’t be happier. He is very experienced and knowledgeable with both native plants and reticulation and was able to come up with a great design to suit our budget. He was great at communicating every step of the way. Fantastic all rounder. Ben did a brilliant clean up job on our neglected garden and we are definitely getting him back for more maintenance and improvements.

Ben designed and installed a native garden for me. Both Ben and Mei-Chen were professional and pleasant throughout the entire process. The design and install involved removal of grass, preparation of the area, recommendation of plants and installation of a water wise reticulation system. All work was completed at a high standard. I would recommend Ben.

Ben is so much more than a gardener, he's a professional in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of public, commercial and domestic landscapes. As a horticultural professional myself, I am impressed by his extensive knowledge of native plants which enables him to create environments perfectly suited to Western Australian soils and climate. Also as Ben's client, I can thoroughly recommend him for his honesty, reliability and very hard work. If you're interested in a garden for drought resistance, a casual lifestyle, formal lines or floral displays, Ben's your man.

I’m thrilled with the native ‘cottage’ garden Ben has created for me and can’t wait to see it mature. Ben was fantastic to work with - prompt communication, great design skills and plant recommendations, and then prepping and planting the garden that included reticulation. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Landscaping costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
