I had the pleasure of working with Brendan for our landscaping plans. We're building in an Estate that has some specific landscaping requirements and I knew that I wasn't skilled enough to draw up the plans myself. Luckily Brendan was highly recommended to me from others building in our Estate and he didn't disappoint! He listened to what I wanted and took into account our lifestyle needs. He was easy to communicate with and his knowledge of our local area and particularly challenging soil really helped. He worked within our Estate guidelines and chose the right trees and shrubs for us and our needs. I would recommend getting a couple of concepts drawn up so you can get some inspiration or different ideas for your yard. I can't wait to work with Brendan again for our next project. Thank you Brendan!

I used Brendan to develop a plan for our new house we built 12 months ago. From day one, Brendan was terrific to deal with. Incredibly knowledgeable, prompt with his replies and exceeded my expectations with the product he supplied. After showing my family the plan he developed, quite a few were surprised with the end product considering what he charged. Being local to Bendigo, Brendan was also able to provide me with some plant recommendations that will thrive in the area. Can't fault the bloke, or his work. Would definitely recommend him to anyone who is after a professional landscaped garden design.

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
