Lewis and his team were fantastic! Lewis came out to scope and assess our front and back yard and support us in coming up with ideas for our space that fit within budget. He was genuine, polite and helpful. He was honest and mindful of our budget and overall a lovely guy. Ollie and Daniel came out to do the work on our front and back and they worked so efficiently, respectfully and left everything clean and tidy (they had to take materials, weeds, stones etc through our home and you wouldn’t know it as there was not one single trace once they’d finished). We’ll be using grassroots for any future landscaping and maintenance and highly recommend them to our friends and family

Lewis was excellent to deal with. My garden looked amazing, it was such a major improvement to what it looked like originally. He was very personable and communicated well with me. All in all I was extremely happy with the job and will definitely be using him again and would be recommending him.

I don’t usually write detailed reviews, but this time I had to make an exception! Lewis and his team at Grassroots were nothing short of first-class. We’re selling a property and needed pavers lifted and re-laid, new garden beds installed, and a general tidy-up. From my initial conversation through to the quote and completion, the entire process was seamless, professional, transparent, honest, and excellent value. Lewis and Dan were on-site for four days, handling every detail with care and keeping me updated at each stage. Despite a tight timeline and the threat of rain, they worked long hours to get everything done, all while clearly enjoying what they do, which made having them onsite a pleasure. Once finished, they went the extra mile to ensure everything was cleaned up. Would I use Grassroots again? Absolutely! I’ve already booked them for work at our own home. So, if you need a landscaper in Melbourne, don’t waste time shopping around; Lewis is the one to call.

I heartily echo all the positive reviews here. Excellent service, including some challenging Jasmine rehabilitation. Cleanup was spotless and the garden looks great! All backed up with great attention to detail and communication from Lewis.

I don’t think I’ve ever left a Google review before, but I have to make an exception to highlight the outstanding service provided by Lewis. I didn’t know Lewis prior, I first came across him a couple of weeks ago while searching for help with a rather unusual project. As part of the organisation of the French Bastille Day Festival at Queen Victoria Market we wanted to create a temporary pétanque (bocce) court for the weekend. While that might sound simple, it actually involved building a timber structure and laying and compacting 2 tonnes of gravel over 24 square metres, right in the middle of the Market. Because of the nature of the event, all the work had to be completed between 5 am and 7 am on the Saturday morning, and then everything had to be dismantled and cleared after 5 pm on Sunday night. My biggest fear with such a tight schedule was hiring someone who would either show up late, or worse, not at all. After 7 am, access to the market was impossible, and we had already promoted the pétanque court across all social media platforms, so failure wasn’t an option. Lewis was the embodiment of reliability. He was there at 4:45 am on Saturday, ready to go, and again right on time Sunday at 5 pm for pack-down. Communication with Lewis was seamless, and the quality of his work was truly outstanding. In fact, a member of the Australian national pétanque team (yes, there is one!) even approached me to compliment how perfectly the court was built. I can’t express enough gratitude to Lewis and his teammate. If I ever need a landscaper again or if anyone asks me for a recommendation I wouldn’t even consider anyone else.
