Vic helped me to install sheer and blockout curtains for my apartment in January 2023. One double rod and one single rod. His workmanship was precise and efficient and the finished product was exactly what I wanted. He tidied up as he went and gave me updates throughout the job. Very happy to recommend Vic and would definitely call him again. Thank you!

STICK TO VIC: Vic did a fantastic job with replacing garage fluorescent lights, fixing front door handle and bathroom sliding door + securing & replacing toilet seats & toilet roll holders at our townhouse. He has a positive attitude, is great at problem solving & highly skilled. Also Vic’s a good communicator & very reliable. We liked that Vic charged for the job & not per hour, quoted up front and conveniently provided all the materials eg light tubes, toilet seat, screws. If we find a competent Tradee with affordable fees who comes when they say they will & cleans up after themself then we stick to them!!!

Hi Victor did mulitple different jobs. He attached a TV to the wall, put up 5 pictures, 4 double blinds with 1 being 2.7 metres long. He was polite, efficient, measured everything more than once. Cleaned up afterwards with his mini vacuum. Most importantly everything looks great!

Handyman costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do handymen typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the task, its complexity and how long the job takes. Simple single-visit repairs or flatpack assembly are typically less than multi-item or specialist work that requires extra trades. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes and identify cost drivers.
Do handymen charge call-out fees?
Many handymen charge a call-out fee to attend a property, which is often separate from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance or weekend work commonly attracts higher rates. It's a good idea to confirm whether the call-out is included in the quote or charged separately.
What qualifications should I look for in a handyman?
Handymen are generally unlicensed for small jobs, so look for industry affiliations such as the Handyman and Home Maintenance Association, Housing Industry Association (HIA) membership or Master Builders involvement for larger-scope work. Check they hold an ABN, adequate public liability insurance and can provide a clear written quote separating labour and materials. For jobs that become large or high-value, confirm whether a state contractor licence or builder registration may be required.
How do I get a quote from AVANMAN?
AVANMAN lists phone or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
