Phil was exceptional in fixing my faulty EV charger! He was incredibly thorough, clearly an expert, and knew exactly what he was doing. Not only did he resolve the issue quickly, but he also went above and beyond by explaining how to optimize my solar usage for EV charging and helping me set up the EV app for seamless operation. Phil was super friendly, professional, and provided great reassurance about aftercare, giving me complete peace of mind. I highly recommend Phil for anyone needing reliable and expert electrical work!

Phil and Sarah and very professional and very knowledgeable. They have been amazing mentors to a group of school students, teaching them about clean energy (in particular solar power) and its role in addressing climate change, about electric vehicles as compared to ICE vehicles, about carbon emissions and about EV charging infrastructure, including the specifications for designing an EV charging station. They have an excellent rapport with the students and make each lesson relevant, interesting and enjoyable. Sarah has inspired deep thinking, and Phil has answered all questions with clarity, enthusiasm and authority. Working with them has been an absolute pleasure, and I will most definitely be calling upon them for all my electrical needs in the future.

Frequently asked questions

How much do electricians typically charge?

Costs vary depending on the job type, how much fault-finding is needed, and whether switchboard or circuit work is involved. Electricians typically charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, and after-hours attendance usually attracts higher rates. Check the live pricing on this page to compare local quotes.

Do electricians charge call-out fees?

Call-out fees are common and are usually charged separately to labour and materials to cover travel and the initial assessment. Some providers may also have a minimum charge for small jobs, so it's worth confirming any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.

Do electricians need a licence in Australia?

Yes — electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW licensing is through NSW Fair Trading. Electricians should display a valid state electrical licence number on quotes and advertising and will usually issue a Certificate of Electrical Safety on completion of work.
