Nic from Mastec was absolutely amazing. I was worried about the complexity of doing a switch board upgrade to a 60 year old home but Nic did it all with little fuss and with OCD levels of quality (what you want for this kind of electrical job). If you have electric hot water, highly recommend you talk to Nic about the replacement of the controlled load (off peak power) as it runs off solar.

Nic provided a first class work in my home to upgrade/replace the existing switchbox in preparation for the new solar panel and battery system. His work is 10/10 and he answered every question I threw to him in easy to understand explanation. Only 4 star because the billing system is a pain to work with. Not only that it sent me several text messages and emails reminding me the approaching of the payment deadline, it continued to spam my Messages Inbox and Email Inbox even after payment was made with a confirmation email sent to Mastec directly from the bank. It was like Mastec had no faith in me meeting the payment, and need to be reminded all the time. The impression was like 'Hey we in Mastec are worrying about you not going to pay, so I am spamming you ever now and then until I see the money in our account. If there is any delay between the paying bank and the receiving bank, too bad this is your problem and I don't care'. One might suggest that it is because the payment had not actually arrived in the account. However, shouldn't a link be provided in all sent messages letting me to tell you that I had already made the payment, so it stops to continue spamming me. Texting and email to Nic failed to stop it, and I had to call Nic personally. Honestly the worst billing reminder system I have even seen. So my conclusion is excellent workmanship, poor billing system.

Highly recommend! Nic was able to swing past that afternoon and fixed the immediate issue and quote us up for the upgrades needed. We had previous issues with the service provided by another company and a friend recommended to call Nic. Could not recommend him more, great communication, fair pricing and great workmanship. Will be definitely be using in the future!

I had discussions with Nicholas prior to the job to ensure we were both on the same page. He was prompt and knowledgeable in his responses and very helpful. I was not home when they arrived to upgrade the circuits in the meter box in preparation for solar and battery. My wife was impressed. They arrived when they said they would, were very polite and efficient. The results look good and they cleaned up before leaving. -

Nicholas has successfully installed a Sigenergy AC EV charger and did a first class job of both the installation and complementary upgrading of the switchboard. It was a pleasure to experience his expertise, a top effort.

Highly recommend Nick as a Level 2 electrician. I hired Nick for a large job upgrading my 3-phase switchboard. He listened to my needs, communicated with me regularly and proactively recommended a meter box that fit the dimensions of the old one perfectly. The job was completed professionally and efficiently.
